Et volt’in altra parte.
Ch’Amor solo sì vince col fuggire.
Dunque, Ninfa gentil, fa festa e gioia,

Ach, weil mein Fileno

Why is it, that by tears and plaints,
pretty nymph, you inundate face and breast?
Alas, for my Fileno
has spread his love’s flames elsewhere
and turned to somewhere else
And who has moved him to leave you?
A sudden anger,
because I didn’t concede him a kiss as a pledge.
Why were you reluctant to his wishes?
Ah, I did not put trust in his sighs.
Do you perhaps hope he will return,
to look again at your bright beauty?
Yes, because I intend to tell him,
that Amor alone wins by fleeing.
Then, pretty nymph, fee and make merry,
for utmost blessing follows after sorrow.
