1. Swift o'er the waters our boat skims along,
Kissing the waves as they rise with the song,
Burying her bow the sweet joy to prolong.
White gleams her sails in the blue of the sky;
Soft morning breezes caressing go by;
Swift as a bird see her gracefully fly.
Light our hearts with mirth and song
Merrily joy prolong;
Voices raise in tuneful praise sailing along.
Misty sun and radiant shower,
Add a beauty passing rare,
Pearly gems the dashing spray;
Never was a day more fair.
White gleams her sails in the blue of the sky;
Soft morning breezes caressing go by;
Swift as a bird see her gracefully fly.

2. Softly the summer sun fades in the West,
Tinting with opal the water's blue breast
E'er he departs for his lone ev'ning rest
Tinting with opal the water's blue breast.
Breezes that chased us so merrily on
Softly depart as declining the sun,
Sails are all furled and the day is now done.
Still our breasts with mirth and song
Merrily joy prolong;
Voices raise in tuneful praise caroling our song.
What the clouds the day may dim,
Thro' the rifts the sun we see
Hope eternal springs within;
As we sing so bright and free.
Breezes that chased us so merrily on
Softly depart as declining the sun,
Sails are all furled and the day is now done.
