Latin text Quem pastores laudavere, quibus angeli dixere: absit vobis iam timere, Natus est rex gloriae. Ad quem reges ambulabant, aurum, thus, myrrham portabant, immolabant haec sincere leoni victoriae. Exultemus cum Maria, in coelesti hierarchia, natum promant voce pia, dulci cum melodia. Christo regi, Deo nato, per Mariam nobis dato, merito resonet vere laus, honor et gloria.

German text Den die Hirten lob'ten sehre und die Engel noch viel mehre, fürcht' euch fürbaß nimmermehre, euch ist geborn ein König der Ehrn. Zu dem die Könige kam'n geritten, Gold, Weihrauch, Myrrhen bracht'n sie mitte, sie fielen nied'r auf ihr Knie: gelobet seist du, Herr, allhie. Freut euch heute mit Maria in des Himmels Hierarchia, da die Engel singen alle in dem Himmel hoch mit Schalle. Lobet, alle Mensch'n zugleiche, Gottes Sohn vom Himmelreiche. Uns zum Trost ist er geboren, Lob und Ehr sei Gott dem Herrn.
