Latin.png Latin text

O quam suavis est, Domine, spiritus tuus,
qui ut dulcedinem tuam in filios demonstrares
pane suavissimo de caelo praestito,
esurientes reples bonis,
fastidiosos divites dimittens inanes.

Alternative Latin text
as found in the Ambrosian chant
O Quam suavis est, Domine, spiritus tuus
qui ut dulcedinem tuam in filios demonstrares
pane suavissimo de caelo praestito,
implesti bonis, divites dimittens inanes.
Gloria Patri…

English.png English translation

O how sweet is thy spirit, Lord,
thou who, in order to demonstrate thy sweetness to thy children,
send down from heaven the sweetest bread unsurpassed,
filling the hungry with good things,
sending away empty the disdainful rich!

Alternative English translation
O how sweet, O Lord, is thy spirit,
who, to show thy tenderness to thy children,
feedest them with thy sweetest bread from heaven,
feeding the hungry with good things,
and sending the disdainful rich away empty.

(Sb 16, 21; Lc 1, 52)
