Italian text Amami, vita mia, ch’io t’amo anchora, E se ben m’uccidesti, Tal gratia anco me festi, Ch’io viva in te, s’in me par ben ch’io mora. Non saprei fuor di te viver un’hora, S’in te m’è ‘l viver grato, e se tu m’ami, o che viver beato!

German translation Liebe mich, mein Leben, denn ich liebe dich immer noch, und selbst wenn du mich tötetest, würdest du mir eine solche Gnade erweisen, dass ich in dir lebe, auch wenn es scheint, dass ich in mir sterbe. Ich wüsste nicht, wie ich außerhalb dir nur eine Stunde leben könnte, derart wohlgefällig ist mir das Leben in dir, und wenn du mich liebst, o welch seliges Leben! Translation by Gerhard Weydt
