English text
Fair budding rose, sweet broken
Of hopes that fluttering rise,
Of love, as yet unspoken,
That beams from telltale eyes;
How shalt thou reign resplendent,
Queen rose on beauty’s throne?
What bliss be mine transcendent,
When love comes to his own?
Fair rosebud, brief thy glory,
Thou reignest but a day!
Though youthful head’s grow hoary,
Love rules the heart for aye!
