General information
This text is the gradual for the Mass of Maundy Thursday, and for the Feast of the Exaltation of the Cross on September 14. It also provides the antiphon for the canticle at the office of Lauds on Maundy Thursday, Good Friday, and Holy Saturday.

Gradual
- Christus factus est pro nobis obediens
- usque ad mortem, mortem autem crucis.
- V. Propter quod et Deus exaltavit illum et dedit
- illi nomen, quod est super omne nomen.
- Christ became obedient for us unto death,
- even to the death of the cross.
- Response. Therefore God exalted Him and gave Him a Name
- which is above all names.
- Cristo se hizo obediente por nosotros
- hasta la muerte, muerte en la cruz.

Antiphon
The portion
- Christus factus est pro nobis obediens
- usque ad mortem.
is the antiphon on Maundy Thursday; to this part, is added on Good Friday
- mortem autem crucis.
and on Holy Saturday morning, to both of the above is added
- Propter quod et Deus exaltavit illum et dedit
- illi nomen, quod est super omne nomen.
The translation of the part used on Maundy Thursday is
- Christ became obedient for us unto death,
to which is added on Good Friday,
- even to the death of the cross.
and on Holy Saturday,
- Therefore God exalted Him and gave Him a Name
- which is above all names.
