Title: MORALIS HISPANI, ET MVLTORVM EXIMIAE ARTIS VIRORVM MVSICA CVM VOCIBVS QVATVOR, VVLGO MOTECTA COGNOMINATA: Cuius magna pars paribus vocibus cantanda est: reliqua verò plena voce apta est decantari. hactenus non typijs excussa, nunc autem in lucem prodit
Publication date and place: 1543 in Venice by Girolamo Scotto.
Description: This anthology of four-voice motets by Cristóbal de Morales and other composers was reprinted in 1546 by Antonio Gardano with a slightly different selection. Neither edition gives any attributions, which has led to much misattribution over the years, the most common resulting from the assumption that all the pieces are by Morales.
