German text Unser keiner lebet ihm selber und keiner stirbet ihm selber. Leben wir, so leben wir dem Herren Sterben wir, so sterben wir dem Herren. Darum wir leben oder sterben so sind wir des Herren.

English translation None of us lives to himself, and no man dies to himself. For whether we live, we live unto the Lord, or whether we die, we die unto the Lord. Therefore, whether we live or whether we die, we are the Lord's.

Hungarian translation Senki közülünk nem él önmagának, és senki nem hal meg önmagának. Míg élünk, Istennek élünk, s ha meghalunk, Istennek halunk meg. Tehát akár élünk, akár meghalunk, az Úréi vagyunk.
