English text
Tho' mirth our subject, can we yet forbear,
To worth like his now gone, one friendly tear.
Attached to us, yet not to us alone,
On arts in ev'ry branch his bounty shone.
Peace to his shade, who while on earth, was proved
The model of that harmony he loved.
Peace.
