English text
Luke 2:8 And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flocks by night.
Luke 2:9 And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them: and they were sore afraid.
Luke 2:10 And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people.
Luke 2:11 For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord.
Luke 2:14 Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men.
Shepherds, in the field abiding,
Watching o’er your flocks by night,
God with man [us] is now residing;
Yonder shines the infant light.
Come and worship, worship Christ, the new-born King.
Saints and angels join in praising
Thee, the Father, Spirit, Son,
Evermore their voices raising
To th'Eternal Three in One.
Come and worship, worship Christ, the new-born King.
