English.png English translation

The wound I have in my heart
is not a wound that Love made:
but when my fair sun offered herself to me
my heart opened wholly to receive her.

Translation by Allen Garvin

Note: there's insufficient information to discover the gender due to the clipped finals of fatt' and riceverl' and the generic term "il mio sole". I chose the object to be feminine because it is often, though not always, the woman that offers herself up. But it could go either way.
