Latin text Cum appropinquaret videns civitatem, flevit super illam, dicens: Quia si cognovisses et tu et quidem in hac die tua quae ad pacem tibi: Nunc autem abscondita sunt ab oculis tuis.

German translation Und als er nahe hinzukam und die Stadt sah, weinte er über sie, indem er sprach: Wenn doch auch du erkenntest, und gerade an diesem deinem Tag, was dir zum Frieden dient! Aber nun ist’s vor deinen Augen verborgen.

English translation And when he was come near, he beheld the city, and wept over it, Saying, If thou hadst known, even thou, at least in this thy day, the things which belong unto thy peace! but now they are hid from thine eyes. (King James Bible)
