Den iiii. Psalm Hooghe te singhen Cum invocarem.
Nae die wyse. Het daghet in den oosten, het lichtet (overal)

Als ick riep met verlanghen
God hoorde al myn leyt
Wanneer my droefheyt heeft bevanghen
Ghi heere my troost verbreyt.
O Heer wilt myns ontfermen

End aenhoort myn gheclach.
Myn bidden, ende myn kermen
Wilt hooren nacht en dach.

Ghi mannen swaer van sinnen
Waer om yst u gherief
Dat ghi wilt ydelheyt beminnen
End hebben die loeghens lief ?

Bekent hoe God den sinen
Seer wonderlyck heeft ghedaen.
Hy hoort my tallen terminen
Wanneer ick hem roep aen.

Verschrict, en schoudt het quade
Uwer herten doet vermaen
Hebt rouwe, vroech, en spade,
Van dyes ghi hebt misdaen.

Gheeft God u offerhande
Dats, hem seer vast betroudt.
Ghi blyft wt alle schande
Hy eest die u behoudt.

Veel zynder, die daer spreken
Wie sal ons verthoonen het goet ?
Dyn licht is over ons ontsteken.
Ghi maect bly minen moet.

Sy zyn na haerder lusten
Met alle gheluck versaet.
In dy Heer wil ick rusten
Myn hoep, myn toeverlaat.

Want ghi mi hier o Heere
In bisonderen hope stelt
Soe dat ick nu tot allen keere
Seer veylich gae opt velt.

The 4th Psalm. To sing high Cum invocarem
After the tune; Het daghet in den oosten, het lichter over.

Translation of the first two stanzas

As I called out with desire
God heard all (or already) my trouble.
When sorrow has come over me
Thou, Lord, hast given me comfort.

O Lord, have mercy on me,
And hear my complaint,
My prayer and my cries
Please hear it, day and night.

Many are there, who say:
Who shall show us the good ?
Your light shines over us
You give me joy in my mind.

They got all they wanted
And are happily satisified.
I will rest in the Lord
My hope, my trust.

For You gave me, o Lord
a very special kind of hope,
So now I can go, always,
very safe in the field.
