English text
“I am cold,” bewailed the cat,
“Cannot find a mouse or rat,
But I daren’t go near the flat.”
“Meow! For my life!”
’Cause the master of the house
Is as timid as a mouse
In the presence of his spouse,
“Meow! That’s his wife!”
Oh, a flaming tongue is hers,
And when ere she asks for furs,
Tho’ he’s busted, he concurs,
“Meow! That’s agrees!”
And he murmurs with a sigh,
“You shall have them by and by,”
And that wild gleam in his eye,
“Meow! Might mean me!”
