English text
May Britain be by God preserved,
In all her great ness ever more,
And may her arm by Him be nerved
With power and justice as of yore!
And may her people, heart and hand,
Engird her like another sea;
For such alone can make her grand,
And such alone can keep her free!
Come, men of Britain, in your strength!
Come, British women in your beauty!
Our flag unfurled throughout the world
Tells us our fathers did their duty!
So let our shout like theirs ring out,
We too will do our duty.
And may the throne, securely based,
Gain strength with Time's returning tide,
Its ancient blots be all effaced,
Its ancient glories multiplied,
And may the brow that wears the crown
Impart there to a fairer grace;
And may that crown, when handed down,
Be still the pride of all our race.
Come, men of Britain,…
In war her hosts shall front the foe,
And stem the danger of the hour,
In peace her brawny sons shall show
Her prouder and her nobler power,
While valour guards and wisdom guides,
Britain shall never know decay,
While freedom on her soil abides,
Her glory shall not pass away.
Come, men of Britain,…
