Description: The german romantic style was common amongst Finnish composers in the late 19th century. Emil Genetz, who had studied music in Dresden conservatoire 1874-77, also wrote In`s stille Land in that context. In the nationalistic movement, the Finnish translation, "Rauhan maa", soon became more popular than the original text.
