General information

Sacris solemniis, attributed to Thomas Aquinas, is one of the hymns for the procession of Corpus Christi. The Liber usualis supplies two melodies. The 6th & 7th verses are often set separately as Panis angelicus.

1. Sácris solémniis iúncta sint gáudia,
et ex praecórdiis sónent praecónia:
recédant vétera, nóva sint ómnia,
córda, vóces et ópera. Ámen.

2. Nóctis recólitur coéna novíssima
qua Chrístus créditur ágnum et ázyma
dedísse frátribus, yúxta legítima
príscis indulta pátribus.

3. Post ágnum týpicum, explétis épulis,
Córpus Domínicum dátum discípulis,
sic tótum ómnibus, quod tótum síngulis,
éius fatémur mánibus.
