Latin text

Respexit Elias ad caput suum
subcinericium panem
qui surgens comedit et bibit.
Et ambulavit in fortitudine cibi illius
usque ad montem Dei.

English translation

Elias looked on the source of his strength,
the bread made from the ashes,
which when he arose he ate and drank.
And he walked in the strength of that bread
even unto the mount of God.

German translation

Elias erblickte bei seinem Haupt
unter der Asche gebackenes Brot
und aufstehend aß und trank er.
Und er marschierte in der Stärkung dieser Speise
bis zum Berg Gottes.
