Title: Liber decimus quartus xix. musicas cantiones continet P. de Manchicourt insignis ecclesie Turonensis prefecto authore.
Publication date and place: 1539 by Pierre Attaingnant, Paris [RISM A/I M269].
Description: A printed set of partbooks containing 19 motets by Pierre de Manchicourt for 4–6vv, published during the composer’s tenure as provost (‘prefecto’) at the cathedral in Tours (‘Turonensis’). This is Attaingnant's only book of motets dedicated to the works of a single composer: its title suggests that the publisher saw it as the next volume of his series of motet books, of which the previous thirteen volumes had been published in 1534–5. Attaingnant re-issued the volume in 1545 under the title Petri Manchicurtii Bethunii…modulorum musicalium primus tomus [RISM A/I M271], replacing the first three motets of the 1539 edition them with three previously unpublished works.
