Description:
This tune was published on p114 of W. J. White's The Sacred Herald, London: [c1820]. It is one of two items in that book attributed to 'H. Searle': the other, 'Salvation', is a through-composed setting of 'Salvation, O the joyful sound'.
The order of staves in the original is Alto - Tenor - Air - [Bass], with the alto and tenor parts given an octave above sounding pitch. The Air and Bass staves are bracketed together and a keyboard accompaniment is indicated between these parts in small notes.
