Vos como madre escogida
Rematastes nuestra rastra.

La otra como madrastra
Pueso en cuentas nuestra vida.

Ella la dexó perdita,
Quando por madre os tomó.

English translation

You, O Virgin, are our mother;
The one who ate the fruit
I call stepmother.

You, our true mother,
Ended our punishment.

The other, as stepmother
put our lives in debt.

She lost everything;
Since as mother I have chosen you,
