Latin text Petre, amas me? Tu scis, Domine, quia amo te: pasce oves meas. Simon Johannis, diligis me? Tu scis, Domine, quia amo te. Ego pro te rogavi, Petre, ut non deficiat fides tua; et tu, aliquando conversus, confirma fratres tuos.

English translation Peter, do you love me? You know, Lord, that I love you: feed my sheep. Simon, son of John, do you love me? You know, Lord, that I love you. I have prayed for you, Peter, that your faith may not fail; and when you have turned back, strengthen your brothers.
