Died: 8 December 1952, Düsseldorf, Germany

Biography

German franciscan priest, musicologist, composer and conductor, was naturalized brazilian in 9 de fevereiro de 1898, in the Bahia province. A complete artist, ran a newspaper, a film magazine, as well as a sacred music journal “Música Sacra”. Became professor and director of the School of Sacred Music and authored masses, oratorios as well as simpler congregational music, and collecting traditional brazilian sacred melodies, publishing them in his Cecília, together with Fr. Basílio Rower.
