English text
Little Bo-Peep,
She lost her sheep,
And elderly sheep
Are uncommonly deep,
And under the bushes will carefully creep.
She sought them near,
She sought them far,
How terribly cunning those old sheep are!
They stuck out of sight like the stickiest tar,
And all she could hear was Baa! baa! baa!
“Little Bo-Peep,” the neighbors said,
“The sheep may be dead,
Or perhaps they have fled
To regions where people don’t relish sheep’s-head!”
“But let them be,”
Said they to she,
“And soon they their folly will plainly see!”
“Just let them alone,
And they’ll come from afar,
With their tails in the place where tails frequently are!”
