Editor: Drew Sellis (submitted 2025-05-18).   Score information: A4, 3 pages, 474 kB   Copyright: CPDL
Edition notes: Note values halved, written pitch retained. Musica ficta are left to the tastes of the performer. Parts suspected as for instrumental use (Contra Tenor I and Tenor I) have been left untexted.

General Information

Title: Kyrie Humano generi, Apt 2
Composer: Anonymous
Lyricist: Unknown
Number of voices: 3vv   Voicing: ATT, there are 2 versions of the lower pair
Genre: SacredMass

Language: Latin
First published: c. 1400 in the Apt Manuscript, no. 2
Description: Kyrie with tropes in the uppermost part. Two of the other four parts are sparsely texted, and the two pairs of Contratenor and Tenor parts are heterophonic, the untexted part in each pair an ornamented version of the other, strongly suggesting that one of each pair might be intended for instrumental accompaniment, as opposed to for five unique voices.
