Biography

Jennie May Carpenter Fleck was born in Scottville, Michigan, and married music teacher and composer Oliver Leander Fleck (1863-1897) of Indiana. They lived for a time in Cook County, Illinois. About 1892, they relocated to Southern California where they lived in Los Angeles, Colton and Riverside. They both contracted tuberculosis. She gave birth to a child as she was being committed to the Southern California Asylum. They both passed away a short time later in Riverside.
