Original text and translations
English text
1. God is extravagant with the seed
and scatters it about,
so as it settled far and near
a few will always sprout.
2. We are extravagant with ground
and casual with seed;
too frequently a willing earth
grows thick and green with weeds.
3. Yet every day a billion times
a wonder will unfold
as God's good seed finds our good soil,
and Life, again, takes hold.
