da noite longeva findou a árdua treva.
Um anjo anuncia futuro sem ai!

2.  Ouvi-o dizer:
Não há que temer!
Eu trago alegria pra santa anistia.
Deus Filho bondoso veio aparecer.

3.  Depressa correi a ver vosso Rei!
Num berço de palha a mãe o agasalha.
Chegando prostrai-vos e culto rendei.

4.  E tu, pecador,
ó vence o torpor.
Em noite tão santa do lodo levanta.
Contrito procura Jesus, divino amor.
