English text
Blest who with gen'rous pity glows,
Who feels another's wants and woes.
In ev'ry want, in ev'ry woe,
Thy pity, Lord, himself shall know.
Thy love his precious life shall guard,
Thy justice give a sure reward.
Tho' languid with disease and pain,
Thou Lord, his spirit wilt sustain;
Thy love on him and on his line
shall with distinguish'd lustre shine.
