Biography

As of August 2022, Emma Shelby is a full-time medical assistant at the Eye Care Center of Northern Colorado and Advanced Vision Research Institute. Having graduated University of Colorado Boulder in May, she is currently applying to medical school and performing volunteer work and research on the side.

Outside of her medical passions, Emma is also an avid member of the flute community and music world. Beginning with the Suzuki method at the age of seven, years of rehearsals and performances honed her talent and love for the instrument. This led her to become the #1 ranked high school flute player in Colorado and to receive acceptance into the CU Boulder flute studio under Professor Christina Jennings. Having received one of her undergraduate degrees in Flute Performance, it is now her dream to contribute to the flute and compositional communities – even whilst pursuing her medical career.
