Description: The text tells of Easter Sunday morning when Mary and Mary find the empty tomb and wonder who rolled that stone away. The story goes on to tell of a man in a whitish robe who speaks comforting words. He invites to celebrate his resurrection and agree with the motto "Light the light tomorrow, light the light today". That is why this Easter song "Light the Light" has the subtitle "A song of resurrection".

English text
Over the garden with the tomb, hewn from rock,
while dawn was breaking, the night passed aside.
The sky, softly bluing, and tenderly pardoned,
by glistening rosy and white rags of clouds.
Sadly weeping and saying a prayer,
Mary and Mary came to the tomb in the cave.
While nearing by, they were seized with fright
at the sight of the open grave.
Refrain:
Because the stone was gone, the stone was gone,
women wondered: who rolled it away?
The stone was gone, yes, the stone was gone.
Please tell them who rolled it away?
Then out of roaring thunder and lightning,
a man appeared in a snowy-white dress.
He tenderly stopped their crying;
his bright'ning words made grief to be less.
Chorus:
But the stone was gone, the stone was gone,
we all wonder: who rolled it away?
The stone was gone, yes, the stone was gone.
Please tell us who rolled it away?
He said:
Fear no fear, new light is sparkling
like dewdrops on a meadow in spring.
Fear no fear, salvation is nearing,
fete my resurrection, join me and say:
"Light the light tomorrow, light the light today".
Chorus:
Yes, the stone was gone, the stone was gone,
we all wonder: who rolled it away?
The stone was gone, yes, the stone was gone.
We believe: 't was You who rolled it away!
He said:
Fear no fear, new light is sparkling
like dewdrops on a meadow in spring.
Fear no fear, salvation is nearing.
Fete my resurrection, join me and say:
"Light the light tomorrow, light the light today".
