Biography
Jessie Louise Pease was born in Ypsilanti, Michigan, daughter of Frederic Henry Pease, founder and head of the conservatory of music at the Michigan State Normal School. She attended the Conservatory and taught piano there. She studied with Arthur Foote in Boston and spent time in Munich, Paris, and London studying with various master teachers; and resided in New York City. She died in Manhattan. She was well known as a composer of songs, particularly in dialect or about children.
