In un vago giardin di fiori adorno
viddi leggiadr'e belle,
Sol, Lun'ambe le stelle,
Vener'e Flora far lieto soggiorno.
Ivi le Grazi'e i pargolett'Amori,
pei celesti costumi,
angeliche armonie e dolci canti,
dorati stral ne gl'infiammati cuori
mandavan'a gli amanti
con sì cari sembianti
ch'esser parea lor tutt'in Paradiso,
onde gridav'ogn'huom da se diviso:
"O ben felic'e fortunato giorno!"

English.png English text

In a lovely flower-adorned garden
I saw graceful and beautiful,
Sun, Moon and both stars,
Venus and Flora, have a happy stay.
There the Graces and the Cupids,
according to celestial customs,
angelic harmonies and sweet songs,
golden arrows in the inflamed hearts
they sent to lovers
with such cute looks
which seemed to them to be all in Paradise,
so that each human being individually shouted:
"O happy and fortunate day!"
