German text 2a. Coro Gottes Zeit ist die allerbeste Zeit. In ihm leben, weben und sind wir, so lange er will. ln ihm sterben wir zur rechter Zeit, wenn er will. 2b. Arioso Ach, Herr, lehre uns bedenken, daß wir sterben müssen, auf daß wir klug werden. 2c. Aria Bestelle dein Haus; denn du wirst sterben und nicht lebendig bleiben! 2d. Coro Es ist der alte Bund: Mensch, du musst sterben! Ja, komm, Herr Jesu! 3a. Arioso ln deine Hände befehl ich meinen Geist; du hast mich erlöset, Herr, du getreuer Gott. 3b. Arioso Heute wirst du mit mir im Paradies sein. Choral Mit Fried und Freud ich fahr dahin in Gottes Willen, getrost ist mir mein Herz und Sinn, sanft und stille, wie Gott mir verheissen hat: der Tod ist mein Schlaf worden. 4. Coro Glorie, Lob, Ehr und Herrlichkeit sei dir, Gott Vater und Sohn bereit, dem Heil'gen Geist mit Namen! Die göttlich Kraft mach uns sieghaft durch Jesum Christum, Amen.

French translation 2a. Chœur Le règne de Dieu est le plus beau règne. Car en Dieu nous avons la vie, le mouvement, et l'être, aussi longtemps qu'il veut. En lui nous mourons au temps fixé par lui. 2b. Arioso Ô, Seigneur, enseigne-nous à bien compter nos jours, afin que nous appliquions notre cœur à la sagesse. 2c. Air Mets de l'ordre dans ta maison, car tu vas mourir, et tu ne vivras plus. 2d. Chœur C'est l'ancien pacte: homme, tu dois mourir! Viens, Seigneur Jésus ! 3a. Arioso Je remets mon esprit entre tes mains ; tu me délivreras, Éternel, Dieu de vérité ! 3b. Arioso Aujourd'hui tu seras avec moi au paradis ! Choral Dans la paix et la joie je quitte ce monde par la volonté de Dieu, le cœur et l'esprit confiants, avec calme et sérénité, comme Dieu m'en a fait la promesse : la mort sera mon repos. 4. Chœur Gloire, louange, et honneur à Dieu le Père, au Fils et au Saint-Esprit ! La puissance de Dieu nous rend victorieux par Jésus Christ, Amen.
