Latin text Beátus Johánnes apóstolus et evangelísta, de núptiis vocátus, et vírgo eléctus a Dómino, átque ínter céteros mágis diléctus, válde honorándus est, qui súpra péctus Dómini in céna recúbuit. Ipse est qui evangélii fluénta de ípso sácro domínici pectóris fónte cum potásset, quási únus de paradísi flumínibus vérbi Déi grátiam in tóto terrárum órbe diffúdit. Sáncte Johánnes, óra pro nóbis ad Dóminum. Amen.

English translation Saint John, the Apostle and Evangelist, called to be unmarried, a virgin chosen by the Lord and among others more beloved, is to be greatly honored, who lay upon the breast of the Lord at supper. He it is who, having drunk the running waters of the Gospel from the actual sacred spring of the Lord's heart, like one of the rivers of paradise, spread the grace of the word of God over the entire world. Saint John, pray for us to the Lord. Amen.
