When first sweet love my heart possessed
I then with Anna’s smiles was blessed.
Each morn did wake to new delight
and cares were hushed in sleep each night.
But now the pleasing dream is o’er
and cruel Anna smiles no more.
Now farewell to love’s delight,
farewell gone each happy day and night,
farewell to love’s delight.
