Description: Cipriano de Rore's settings of the 5 Psalms appointed for second Vespers of the Nativity were printed in 1554 and again in 1570, only the tenor partbook surviving; a manuscript is complete except for the last page of Memento Domine. The psalms are set alternatim with even verses left to be chanted or played by the organ. One of Rore's surviving Magnificats, the Magnificat primi toni, matches the mode of the antiphon Hodie Christus natus est and could well be sung with Rore's 6-voice motet.
