MIDI files for copyright works

Hi Claude. I'm back on CPDL after finishing my university exams on Wednesday. I see you've been busy while I've been away! I just wanted to ask you about the MIDI files that you've been creating, specifically for works contributed to CPDL by living composers. I noticed you added a MIDI file for Cantate Domino (Tim Blickhan). Did you contact Tim to get his consent to do this? I note that at the bottom of the PDF, Tim has not released this work under a free license, simply stating "Copyright © 2000 by Charles Timothy Blickhan".

PS. This talk page is getting rather long - you should archive it, or I'd be happy to help you to do this if you're not sure how. --Bobnotts talk 12:07, 6 February 2010 (UTC)

Hi, Bob. I'm sure you'll be successful in your studies. And thanks for your help. I had in mind that the MIDI files directly created from the PDF files should follow the copyright status of the latter. I thought also that if any editor/composer wants to show the score, he also wants that it can be heared. - About this page, yes, could you explain me about what to do? Created the 'Archive' page, cutted and pasted all the threads except two. Claude 14:01, 7 February 2010 (UTC)
"I had in mind that the MIDI files directly created from the PDF files should follow the copyright status of the latter."
I'm afraid that whilst your intentions are good, you have not sought the copyright holder's permission to adapt their work in this way. This consent cannot be assumed. As such, I have deleted the MIDI files you uploaded for this composer's works and removed the links. If you wish to seek Tim Blickhan's permission to publish an adaptation of his work, and he consents to this, of course I have no problem with your doing so.
I'm glad you worked out the archiving process. --Bobnotts talk 17:28, 10 February 2010 (UTC)

Pages created automatically using templates

Hi Claude, if you want to add text/translations to this page, please note that it's a new experiment about the automatic creation of pages using templates. Text and translations for such a page should go into the associated text sub-page, rather than on the page itself. We may even create a wiki namespace for text/translations, so that all text/translations may have their own logical space for easier management in the future. As you are by far the most generous contributor for text/translations, your opinion on this matter would be greatly appreciated! Max a.k.a. Choralia 16:12, 6 February 2010 (UTC).

It does work well: someone can now see the text at the bottom of the work's page. Thanks. But when someone click on 'Modify' on the line of 'Text and translations', it opens the protected CPDL template instead of the new secondary page which contains the text, to modify it, for example. Additionnally, the new pages without text do not appear when you list those that have the NoText template inside. Claude 16:58, 6 February 2010 (UTC)
If a namespace for CPDLtext is created, new pages without text would be evident by simply monitoring the empty pages of such a namespace. The NoText template may become unnecessary. This page is another example where I didn't add the NoText template, so you may add any text by just clicking the red link at the bottom of the page. I have to find a similar way to easily reach the CPDLtext page after the first edit, as at the moment it's not obvious. Max a.k.a. Choralia 10:12, 7 February 2010 (UTC)
I've easily added the text the way you mentioned. Thanks. Incidentally, did you see what happens on the 'Instruments' line of the work page? Claude 14:15, 7 February 2010 (UTC)
