"Large works" was a term used by some publishers to describe multi movement works, including Cantatas, Masses, Operas, and Oratorios, which included both chorus and solo parts, and occasionally, instrumental movements. Besides having scores with more pages, they often required more performers, too: larger choirs, and orchestral accompaniments, although many were published with choral scores that had keyboard (piano and organ) accompaniments, as well.
