Description: Source: Motetti de la Corona Libro Tertio published by Petrucci, 1519. The combination of texts set is an unusual one. Despite the obscurity of the composer, this setting could be quite effective if taken fast enough.

Latin text Tulerunt Dominum meum et nescio ubi posuerunt eum. Plangemus eum, plangent eum quasi unigenitum quia innocens Dominus occisus est. Scio enim quia/quod redemptor meus vivit et in novissimo die de terra surrecturus sum et rursus circumdabor pelle mea et in carne mea videbo salvatorem meum quem visurus sum ego ipse et oculi mei conspecturi sunt. Reposita est haec spes mea in sinu meo et in praecordiis meis.

English translation They have taken my Lord away, and I do not know where they have laid him. We weep for him, they weep for him as for an only child, for the Lord, although innocent, has been put to death. I know that my redeemer is alive, and that on the latter day I shall be resurrected from the earth: and in my flesh shall I see God, my Saviour, whom I myself shall see and my eyes shall behold. This is the hope that I hold in my heart.
