Description: This motet is a contrafactum of the madrigal Lay a Garland, using the Latin text Tu es Petrus. Pearsall, who was living at Wartensee Castle in Switzerland at the time of the work's creation, dedicated it to the first bishop of St Gallen, John Peter.
