General Information

Title: The Lord bless you and keep you
Composer: Michael Winikoff

Number of voices: 4vv   Voicing: SATB

Genre: SacredUnknown

Language: English
Instruments: Violin

Published: 2009

Description: This piece is dedicated to my father, who passed away in February 2009.

It is a setting of the blessing traditionally read by a parent on Friday evening to bless his/her children.

My father played violin, and so it was natural to incorporate a violin, representing both his playing, and, in the closing bars of the work, the soul finding peace.

Note: the piece has some divisi. Although it is mostly in English, it includes some (transliterated) Hebrew text.

Note: Original composition uploaded by the composer. Permission is granted for this piece to be copied as needed and performed as desired. No royalties are required.

I would appreciate being notified of performances, and, if possible, getting a recording (e.g. MP3 file) of performances. Thank you!
