Tama je svud vladala tad, snivao san Betlem je grad
Slave ga vijek beskraji svi, slavu mu sad pojmo i mi!

English.png English translation

All around there was darkness, the town of Bethlehem was dreaming
Waiting awake was only the night, it knew God will come to the earth.
The brightness of the most beautiful star overflew on that dream world.
It sprinkled with gold all the path, the stable and the corner with manger.
With the star there went people and a white sworm of angels to the stable.
Making a step on the door-step, they saw: The King was born mighty but gentle.
Everybody knew, the grass and the flower: Brother was born humble and saint.
All the endlesses glorify Him for always, let us sing Glory for Him!
