Merge or disambiguate? [moved here from Talk:Dt. Te Deum (Felix Mendelssohn)]

Not sure what dt. stands for, and as usual I cant open the MUS file. Is this a different work than the A major Te Deum (Felix Mendelssohn)? I suspect the wo opus no. part of this list is incomplete, since WP lists a double chorus Te Deum (in another incomplete list). Richard Mix 14:18, 18 November 2011 (CST)

My opinion is that Dt. stands for 'deutsch' (German) as in 'Ein deutsches Requiem'. Music is the same, text is in German - Claude 15:52, 18 November 2011 (CST)

Thanks, Claude, I'm sure your hunch must be right. Is it a full score, vocal, or some arrangement for less than SATB.SATB? From IMSLP [& New Grove]:

  • Te Deum [in D] 1826 chorus 8vv, continuo
  • WoO 29 Te Deum „We praise thee, O God“ (Morning Service) A major 1832 soli [semi-chorus], chorus, organ 14/B, Breitkopf ed. 104
  • „Herr Gott, dich loben wir“ (Te Deum) Canticle 1843 double chorus, 4 trombones, strings, organ [first printed ed. Roe-Min Kok (Stuttgart, 1996)]

The second was published bi-lingually, with some doubt about the composing language. I'll propose for CPDL:
