Hi Barry. | |||
John Milsom is a top scholar, but he made a rare slip here in his index. He may have been confusing the chant with the Sarum Rite antiphon "Justi autem in perpetuum". Sheppard's piece, however, is a setting of the responsory, which was definitely just "Justi in perpetuum" (without the "autem"; I checked several sources to make sure).— | |||

In the index to The Baldwin Partbooks at Christ Church, no. 90 is Justi autem in perpetuum, and I don't see Justi in perpetuum vivent. Are these different or the same? — Barry Johnston (talk) 19:25, 7 July 2021 (UTC)
