Died: 5 February 1787
Biography
Studied divinity with Rev Eleazar Wheelock at Hanover, and married his daughter, Abigail. Sylvanus Ripley was a tutor at Dartmouth (1772-1778), Dartmouth trustee (1775-1787); pastor of the Dartmouth College Church in 1779, and Phillips Professor of Theology in 1782, holding the three last positions to the day of his death. Died of injuries sustained from a fall from his sleigh while returning from religious services. There is no Wikipedia page.
