Latin text Suscipiens Jesum in ulnas suas Simeon exclamavit et dixit: Tu es vere lumen ad illuminationem gentium, et gloriam plebis tuæ Israël.

English translation Taking Jesus in his arms Simeon exclaimed and said: Truly, you are the light to lighten the Gentiles and the glory of thy people, Israel.
