Biography
Susanna Harrison became ill in August 1772, and was made an invalid from her work as a domestic servant at the age of 20, and returned to her mother's home. She taught herself to write and an anonymous editor published Songs in the Night in 1780. This included 133 hymns, which had eleven editions in England and seven in America.
