Selah Gridley was a medical doctor in Castleton, Connecticut, where he established a small medical school. He wrote a number of poems, published first in newspapers and periodicals, which he collected towards the end of his life. These were published by his brother, Timothy Gridley, after Selah Gridley's death in 1828.
